Specialist Driver Resourcing (specialistdrivers.com) is the UK's leading supplier of experienced temporary HGV drivers to the building materials sector. It's sister company Building Materials Logistics (buildmatlogistics.com) is a specialist logistics company supplying haulage and supply chain services to the building materials sector.

We're looking for a Graduate Financial & Business Data Analyst working across both of our businesses and based on-site in Hedge End, Southampton, to help us understand business performance and make informed commercial decisions. This is an opportunity to work closely with our finance and operations teams and directly with our Managing Director, gaining practical experience in a business where costs, pricing and margins matter every day.

What you'll be doing

• Analysing financial and operational data to identify trends and opportunities and to support decision making across the business.
• Developing key operational performance indicators and reporting on revenue, costs and margins including variance analysis.
• Developing dashboards that make complex information easy to understand.
• Building models and preparing budgets, forecasts and management reports.
• Working with colleagues across the business to improve performance, reporting and processes.

What we're looking for

• A recent graduate in finance, accounting, economics, mathematics, business analytics or a related subject.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and confidence working with numbers.
• A curious, proactive approach and a willingness to learn.
• The ability to explain findings clearly to colleagues.
• Excellent Excel skills and an interest in developing your data analysis capabilities.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL or similar data analysis and reporting tools would be welcome, but is not essential as any required training will be provided. We're interested in your potential, including relevant university projects, placements or internships.

You'll gain direct exposure to the commercial workings of a business, work closely with senior management and see how your analysis supports and drives decisions and has a direct impact on the performance of the businesses.
