Job summary

Jensen Hughes in the UK and Ireland is inviting applications for a Graduate Facade Engineer to join across the UK and Ireland, working with experienced engineers to develop knowledge in façade systems and external wall fire consultancy.

The programme offers hands‑on project experience, mentorship and CPD over two years, with opportunities to progress toward chartered status and flexible hybrid working.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK or Ireland.
• Master’s degree in Fire Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering, or Physics.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, specifications, and technical information relating to façade and external wall systems.
• Assist in preparing technical reports, including external wall fire assessment reports and façade engineering notes.
• Support external wall fire safety assessments, including PAS 9980‑led appraisals and desktop studies.
• Attend site visits and intrusive surveys to establish external wall/façade build‑ups and fire stopping provisions.
• Assist with thermal engineering tasks including thermal bridging reviews and U‑value assessments.
• Assist with structural engineering tasks related to façade systems and analysis of calculations.
• Coordinate and review test evidence, certifications, and product data relevant to façade performance.
• Coordinate between internal disciplines and external stakeholders under supervision.
• Attend design meetings and client meetings and maintain project documentation.
• Participate in training, mentoring and development activities.
