Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Graduate Estimator / Trainee Estimator to join the expanding commercial team in Brands Hatch. The role offers training and exposure to groundworks, civil engineering and infrastructure projects across multiple live sites.

You will assist with tenders, take-offs, cost estimates and supplier comparisons, while developing knowledge under experienced estimators. A pathway to a lasting construction estimating career is provided.

Qualifications

• Strong numeracy and confidence with figures.
• Good attention to detail and analytical approach.
• Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organisational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Estimating team with preparing competitive tenders for groundworks and civil projects.
• Support measurement and take-off of quantities from drawings and specifications.
• Review tender documentation, drawings and project requirements.
• Assist with preparation of cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractor works.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support preparation and submission of tender documents.
• Liaise with commercial and operational teams to understand costs and delivery requirements.
• Develop knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads and associated infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

Bennett & Game Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established and highly respected Civil Engineering and Groundworks Contractor who are seeking a Graduate Estimator / Trainee Estimator to join their growing commercial team.

Established for over 30 years, this privately owned contractor specialises in infrastructure, groundworks and civil engineering works for major UK residential developers. Operating across approximately 30 live sites at any one time, the business has built an outstanding reputation for quality delivery, staff retention and long-term client relationships.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or numerically minded individual looking to establish a long-term career in construction estimating. Full training and support will be provided, with the opportunity to develop commercial and technical knowledge while working alongside experienced Estimators on a variety of groundwork and infrastructure projects.

• A genuine interest in developing a career within construction estimating
• Previous experience within construction, groundworks or civil engineering would be advantageous but is not essential
• Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive commercial team
