Bennett & Game Recruitment Ltd. is seeking a Graduate Estimator/Trainee Estimator to join its commercial team at Brands Hatch.

The role involves supporting the estimating team with tender preparation for groundworks and civil engineering projects and assisting with cost estimates across labour, plant, materials and subcontractor works. You will develop knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads and infrastructure while gaining hands‑on experience in a well‑established civil

Formación

• Degree or equivalent preferred but not essential.
• Strong numeracy and analytical approach to problem-solving.
• Good attention to detail and strong IT skills (Excel).
• Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive commercial team.

Responsabilidades

• Assist Estimating team with preparation of competitive tenders for groundworks and civil engineering projects.
• Support measurement and take-off of quantities from drawings and specs.
• Review tender documents, drawings and project requirements.
• Assist with preparation of cost estimates for labour, plant, materials and subcontractor works.
• Obtain and compare quotations from suppliers and subcontractors.
• Support preparation and submission of tender documents.
• Liaise with commercial and operational teams to understand project costs and delivery requirements.
• Develop knowledge of groundworks, drainage, foundations, roads and infrastructure.
• Maintain accurate estimating records and documentation.

Established for over 30 years, this privately owned contractor specialises in infrastructure, groundworks and civil engineering works for major UK residential developers. Operating across approximately 30 live sites at any one time, the business has built an outstanding reputation for quality delivery, staff retention and long-term client relationships.

Job Overview

Job Requirements

• Degree / HNC / T-Level in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related discipline preferred but not essential
• Strong numeracy skills and confidence working with figures are essential
• Good attention to detail and an analytical approach to problem-solving
• Competent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• A genuine interest in developing a career within construction estimating
• Previous experience within construction, groundworks or civil engineering would be advantageous but is not essential
• Willingness to learn and develop within a supportive commercial team
