Job summary

Tetra Tech is seeking a Graduate Environmental Planning Consultant to join our Next Gen Talent programme in London, Birmingham or Leicester. You’ll gain hands-on experience on real projects, supported by regular training to develop technical and professional skills for a long-term career.

The role emphasizes environmental planning, EIA, collaboration across disciplines, and building skills in project coordination, data collection, and report writing, with hybrid working and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management or a related field, plus EIA experience.
• Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, and UK planning/consenting process.
• Strong communication, coordination, time management and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to environmental planning and impact assessment across projects.
• Assist with data collection, screening, scoping and reporting under EIA regulations.
• Prepare clear reports (EIAs, CEMPs) and review outputs for accuracy.
• Collaborate with air quality, biodiversity, land use, transport and other teams to assess impacts and mitigation.
• Develop specialist knowledge in climate change, socio-economics, human health or construction phase environmental management.
