Job summary

BUUK Infrastructure Limited is offering a Graduate Engineer (Water) role designed to give broad experience across the utilities sector. You will rotate through different departments, work toward IEng/CEng, and contribute to day‑to‑day operations while building your professional engineering status.

The three‑stage recruitment process includes a telephone interview and an Assessment Centre (Milton Keynes) on Tuesday 8th December 2026. Some travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Educated to degree level in an appropriate Engineering discipline with a minimum 2:1 grade.
• Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent listening skills and the ability to build rapport.
• CSCS or equivalent.
• Experience within the utilities industry.
• Awareness of Health and Safety Procedures.
• Ability to use Microsoft Office programmes or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertake tasks and projects that will give practical experience within the utilities industry.

• Maintain a record of experience and learning while working towards professional engineering status.
• Visit and work within other BUUK offices throughout the UK, undertaking site visits when required.

(The graduate scheme follows a three-stage interview process. Candidates who are successful at the telephone interview stage will be invited to attend an Assessment Centre in Milton Keynes on Tuesday 8th December 2026 . Please note that this is currently the only Assessment Centre scheduled).

Purpose of this role

To gain broad based experience within BUUK whilst contributing to day-to-day business activities.Graduates may be streamed to either construction, electricity, water, fibre, or heat networks on a three-yearscheme while working towards IEng and CEng status.

Qualifications

Conditions of Employment

You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to handling and processing sensitive customer data.

You will hold a driving licence or be in the process of obtaining one.
