About the role

To grow our Engineering team in Glasgow/Derby, we are seeking a Graduate Engineer to work on a variety of projects, including some of the UK's most prestigious infrastructure programmes. You will be supported by experienced engineers to develop professionally and achieve your career goals, including Chartered Engineer status.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Producing engineering designs, assessments, and evaluations in line with project requirements
2. Preparing calculations, writing reports, and reviewing drawings
3. Checking design calculations and drawings prepared by other engineers
4. Engaging in activities such as data analysis, developing calculation methods, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure high-quality project delivery
5. Contributing to the dissemination of engineering best practices and utilizing in-house tools like the carbon calculation tool
6. Planning and prioritising your workload with support from your project manager, and reporting on progress against budgets and schedules
7. Ensuring your work meets high technical standards through diligent self-checking
8. Attending site visits and client meetings as required

Your skills and attributes

Additionally, you will have:

• Currently studying for a bachelor's or master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering (BEng, BSc, Meng, MSc)

• Some experience in an engineering environment, such as a summer placement or year in industry
• A passion for engineering and a commitment to technical excellence
• The ability and desire to work within a diverse, multidisciplinary team
