About the Role
We have exciting opportunities for Graduate Geotechnical Engineers to join the UK’s largest and most diverse geotechnical and ground engineering contractor. The role is challenging, demanding, varied, and offers a fantastic opportunity to start your career with support from our experienced team.
Responsibilities
- Undertake geotechnical analytical work, including planning, execution, and reporting of Geo-Environmental and Geotechnical site investigations.
- Assist with field activities, assessment, and analysis of geotechnical conditions.
- Participate in laboratory testing for soil and rock samples.
- Prepare, review, analyze, and interpret geotechnical data.
- Assist with report writing and technical documentation.
- Engage in Research & Development projects to develop innovative engineering tools and solutions.
- Implement quality control and assurance measures.
- Promote health and safety responsibilities proactively.
- Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct contaminated land assessments and site remediation.
- Perform soil and groundwater risk assessments, liaising with clients and regulators.
- Collaborate with engineers and technicians to produce evidence-based reports.
- Reflect and promote Van Elle company values in conduct.
Candidate Requirements
- A minimum 2:2 BSc (Hons) in Geology, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- Practical construction experience is desirable.
- Experience with AutoCAD is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Valid CSCS card is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good planning and organizational skills.
- Structured problem-solving approach.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of relevant legal and safety regulations.
Additional Requirements
- Eligibility to work and reside in the UK.
- Willingness to travel within the UK.
- Full UK driving license (essential).
