Job summary

Bennett and Game Recruitment Ltd is seeking a technically minded Business Development Engineer for an office-based role in Manningtree, Essex. The position involves maintaining existing customer relationships, finding new business opportunities and supporting pultruded profile product development.

The role requires a technical background in composites engineering or chemistry, strong communication skills and the ability to work with internal teams to meet customer needs.

Qualifications

• Background in composites engineering or chemistry is advantageous.
• Strong technical understanding with ability to communicate specifications to customers.
• Experience in customer relationship management, business development or technical sales is beneficial.
• Good commercial awareness with ability to support product pricing and costing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to liaise with customers and internal teams.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
• Full eligibility to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical examination.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers while identifying new business opportunities.
• Provide technical support and product specification advice for pultruded profiles, including resin formulations and properties.
• Liaise with design team on tooling design and new profile development.
• Assist with product specifications and technical information for profiles.
• Support production planning and delivery of customer requirements with Production Manager.
• Liaise with finance to maintain pricing for stock profiles and cost new projects.
• Support marketing activities and represent the business at exhibitions.
• Prepare written and verbal reports for customers and colleagues at all levels.
