Job summary

Eadon Consulting is seeking a Graduate Engineer for our Sheffield office, starting autumn/winter 2026. You will work with engineers and designers to tackle real-world problems and develop you professionally.

Responsibilities include turning concepts into detailed designs, applying engineering fundamentals, performing finite element analysis, and creating 3D CAD models and drawings using Solidworks.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm for solving engineering problems and willingness to learn.
• Apply first-principles engineering learned in your degree to new problems.
• Strong ability to work and communicate with others.

We are currently looking for a Graduate Engineer to join our team in autumn/winter 2026. We’re looking for someone who is keen to apply the skills they have learned to solve a variety of real-world engineering problems.

What you’ll do

You will be working alongside other engineers and designers as an integral part of the team at our Sheffield-based office, solving a wide variety of engineering problems. Typical tasks could include:

• Developing concepts into detailed designs;

• Using engineering fundamentals to check that designs work;

• Carrying out detailed finite element analysis to optimise designs;

• Producing 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings using Solidworks to enable the design to be made.

What you’ll need

An ideal candidate would:

• Have enthusiasm for solving engineering problems, and the drive to learn and take ownership of your own development;

• Be able to apply the first-principles engineering that you have learned in your degree to new problems;

• Have the ability to work and communicate effectively with other people;

• Have graduated from a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Structural or General Engineering or closely related (i.e. physical not electrical/control-based).
