Job description

Job Description

Graduate Electronics Engineer to join an exciting and expanding firm supplying product design and engineering to a diverse client base. This is an incredible opportunity for a graduate electronics engineer to work firsthand on cutting-edge technology in electronics. Looking for a self-starter who is happy to take concepts through prototyping into real, manufacturable products.

With a focus on end-to-end product development, this role provides the Graduate Electronic Engineer an opportunity to gain hands-on experience working with the owner of the business.

This would suit a graduate who has hobbies in electronics using Raspberry Pi, for example, and thrives on challenging problems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work day-to-day with the owner of the business (minimum 3 days in the office).
  • Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and systems, including schematic capture and PCB layout (Altium preferred).
  • Participate in prototyping, testing, and debugging of electronic hardware to meet functionality and performance specifications.
  • Collaborate with end clients, communicating on a technical level, with support from the owner.
  • Support the development of embedded software and firmware for microcontroller-based applications.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation, including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Stay updated with the latest advancements in electronic engineering and propose innovative solutions to enhance product designs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronic Engineering or a related field, 2.i or higher.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuit design.
  • PCB layout experience (Altium Designer preferred, but other mainstream tools like OrCad, KiCAD, Autodesk are acceptable).
  • Basic programming skills, particularly in C/C++, Python is a plus.
  • Familiarity with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience with microcontroller platforms and development environments.
  • Knowledge of wireless communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
  • Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) and design for testability (DFT) principles.
  • Experience with phone apps connecting with devices.
  • Prior internship or university project experience in electronic product development is ideal but not essential.

What is Offered:

  • Opportunity to work on diverse and innovative projects across multiple industries.
  • Mentorship from an experienced professional in the field.
  • Exposure to the complete product development lifecycle.
  • Potential for growth within the company as the team expands.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and bright Graduate Engineer to learn a broad range of skills. The graduate would gain more experience here than in a large corporate setting. Apply today for more details and a conversation.
