As a Graduate Electronics Engineer you will play a key role in ensuring Renishaw remains a market leader, often by using the latest electronic technology to ensure we maintain the best possible performance from our products. Graduate Electronic Engineers are challenged with developing and delivering smaller, faster, and more reliable products.
What will I gain from this graduate scheme?
Length: 2 years
Placements: 4, 6 month placements
Placements and projects will enhance your current skills and knowledge, supporting your thirst for knowledge and experience in training and development, and will involve you working on real projects which deliver tangible business benefits.
What type of things will I be working on?
Within Renishaw, Electronic Engineers require a variety of different skills from: Analogue to Digital Design; Embedded software to VHDL and DSP coding; Using DC to through to RF; Designing with Passives to Custom Silicon Design; From Magnetic Sensing to Opto-Electronics; Creating Circuit Design to PCB Layout; And from Blue-Sky Research to Final Product Development.
Graduate Electronic Engineers will gain an understanding of the followingcore knowledge and opportunities:
• System configuration and architecture
• Signal processing and signal conditioning
:
• Analogue & digital devices and implementation
• Component packaging and manufacturability
:
• Power devices and design
• Algorithm and data manipulation
• FPGA (VHDL) and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) devices and configuration
• Peripherals and interconnectivityusing defined protocols
• Development of algorithms and implementation
• C (C++, C#) firmware code to support development
• Standard communication interfaces including USB, PCIe and other peripheral support
:
• Prototype assembly
• Research, testing and commissioning
• Design for Manufacture (DFM) and Design for Test (DFT)
• Documentation and standards
• Product Upgrades
What career opportunities are available?
Electronics Graduates go on to roles such as:

New Mills head office near Wotton-under-Edge in Gloucestershire
Renishaw is in a semi-rural location therefore it is essential that you have your own form of transport or are willing to relocate to the area
Possible occasional travel to other Renishaw sites
Hybrid working options available, role-dependent
What skills and qualifications do I need?
Applicants must have:
A 2:1, or higher, degree in a technical field– Electronic Engineering, Design, Physics or Mathematics
Highly motivated and keen to continue to develop and enhance their current skills
An interest in designingwith new technology and work in an engineering organisation
A keen eye for detail and thirst for understandingelectronics
