Job summary

GE Vernova Grid Automation offers a graduate engineering programme focused on protection and control systems for substations. You will gain hands-on experience in designing, configuring and testing protection and control solutions for different voltage levels, mentored by experienced engineers.

You will rotate through teams to build a strong foundation in substation automation, SCADA, IEC 61850, and cybersecurity, preparing you for a career in grid resilience technologies and power system

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of protection schemes, relay logic, and control system principles.
• Familiarity with power system fundamentals, substation layouts, or single line diagrams.
• Knowledge of or interest in SCADA/DCS systems, industrial communications, or cybersecurity in energy systems.
• Competence in tools such as Python, MATLAB, or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and configuration of protection and control systems for electrical substations.
• Support testing activities, including factory acceptance tests.
• Gain exposure to SCADA, RTU, HMI systems, and protection relays.
• Learn and apply IEC 61850, DNP3, Modbus and other communication protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product engineering, applications, and field services.
• Support documentation development, including system specifications, test procedures, and technical reports.
• Engage in continuous learning, attend training sessions, and contribute to technical innovation.
• Work closely with project and delivery teams to ensure high-quality solutions aligned with customer needs.
