Qualifications

• A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, Power Systems, or related field.
• Basic understanding of protection schemes, relay logic, and control system principles.
• Familiarity with power system fundamentals, substations, or single line diagrams.
• Knowledge of SCADA/DCS, industrial communications, or cybersecurity in energy systems.
• Competence in Python, MATLAB or AutoCAD is a plus.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

This graduate role is ideal for someone passionate about electrical engineering and looking to grow a career in substation protection and control systems. You'll be mentored by experienced engineers and will rotate through various teams within Grid Automation to build a strong technical foundation in substation automation, SCADA systems, communication protocols (IEC 61850), and cybersecurity.
