Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Edinburgh invites applicants to join its 2027 Graduate Programme as a Graduate Electrical Engineer. You will balance technical learning with project delivery on major hydropower schemes within a growing Energy & Resources team.

On joining, you will work across feasibility to commissioning, leveraging BIM tools and collaborating with multi-disciplinary engineers to develop detailed designs and reports, aiming for Chartered status with IET or IMechE.

Qualifications

• Accredited degree in electrical engineering (BEng/MEng) or closely related power systems discipline.
• Interest in the energy transition and sustainable power systems.
• Willingness to develop chartership and professional qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Undertake electrical engineering calculations and outline/detailed designs for hydropower equipment and balance of plant systems.
• Assist with technical specification and selection of transformers, switchgear, generators, control systems, and associated equipment.
• Support design work across electrical balance of plant systems, grid interfaces, cable routing and protection.
• Utilise BIM tools to produce models, SLDs and layout drawings.
• Contribute to technical specifications, feasibility studies and engineering reports.
• Collaborate with civil, structural and mechanical teams to deliver integrated solutions.
