Beeby Anderson Recruitment is helping a growing Building Services consultancy on the south coast recruit a Graduate Electrical Engineer. You will gain hands-on experience across electrical building services design, energy efficiency, and project management, with structured training toward Chartered Engineer status.

You will assist in design of electrical systems, conduct site surveys, prepare reports and CAD drawings, and learn from Chartered Engineers in a collaborative, friendly team while

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design of electrical building services including power, lighting, generators, UPS, fire alarms, and renewables.
  • Conduct on-site surveys and attend meetings to improve energy performance and understand regulations.
  • Prepare technical reports, specifications, and CAD drawings.
  • Learn from Chartered Engineers to support professional development and career progression.
  • Explore smart building systems and net-zero energy strategies.

The Client:

A successful, growing consulting practice recognised across the south coast, offering fantastic career progression opportunities is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join their dynamic, talented, and friendly Building Services team.

This position will give you the opportunity to work on cutting edge projects across both public and private sectors, gain hands-on experience in electrical building services design, energy efficiency, and project management; and receive structured training and mentorship on the path to Chartered Engineer status.

The Role:
  • Practical Project Involvement - Assisting in the design of electrical building services, including power distribution, lighting, generators, UPS systems, fire alarms, and sustainable/renewable energy solutions and more.
  • Site Experience - Conducting on-site surveys and assessments to improve energy performance and attending project/design team meetings, in interesting and often unusual buildings in different parts of the UK, gaining a deeper understanding of regulations and energy standards relating to the design and installation of electrical systems within buildings.
  • Technical Development - Learning to prepare technical reports, specifications, and CAD drawings, ensuring a well-rounded skill set.
  • Mentorship & Career Growth - Working alongside experienced Chartered Engineers, with tailored guidance to support professional development and career progression.
  • Innovation & Sustainability - Exploring emerging technologies such as smart building systems, energy-efficient solutions, and net-zero carbon strategies.
Requirements:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or similar)
  • Passion for sustainable energy and smart building technologies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eagerness to learn
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
