Job Opportunity: Editorial Content Specialist

This role is ideal for a recent graduate seeking their first position in Publishing. It suits individuals with an excellent eye for detail, strong language skills, and an interest in working within an online editorial environment. The position is perfect for someone with good technical skills looking to advance in a fast-growing publishing company in the business compliance sector.

Job Purpose

The editor is responsible for editing and processing content supplied by internal and external authors and compiling weekly eAlerts. Working closely with the Content teams, the editor tags content accurately and thoroughly checks it to ensure efficient processing through the content management system. The editor also maintains high quality standards for published content and identifies areas for improvement.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
  • Using editing software to tag content according to instructions from authors, development editors, and content managers, ensuring correct processing in the content management system for online publication.
  • Checking content for spelling, grammar, and editorial errors, adhering to the company’s house style.
  • Monitoring the quality of published content to ensure it appears as expected.
  • Compiling weekly eAlerts for distribution to subscribers.
  • Reviewing progress against schedules, prioritizing work accordingly, and liaising with colleagues as necessary.
  • Providing regular feedback to the editorial manager and development editors to maintain editorial consistency and implement improvements.
