Costain Graduate Development Programme

Our programme focuses on helping individuals learn a mix of leadership and technical skills. We offer a structured training programme to enable graduates to work towards achieving Chartership in their chosen field. After 8-10 months, graduates may rotate and work on various projects across the UK during the 2-year period, gaining diverse experience. Our line managers support the programme and will assist your development.

Responsibilities

• Line Management: The Designated Design Manager (DDM) will oversee the Graduate Design Manager (GDM).
• Project Reporting: GDM will liaise with the Design Manager for project delivery, de-risking, and quality assurance.
• Must Do's: Support in eliminating harm reviews, carbon baseline management, and ensuring safety and environmental standards are met.
• Design Procurement: Assist in developing de-risking scopes, managing design services, and supporting production strategies.
• Key Responsibilities: Maintain trackers for assumptions, risks, biodiversity, carbon, and manage design reviews, meetings, and documentation control.

Qualifications

• A Design/Engineering Degree with at least 2:2 or above.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and other relevant software.
• Good knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills.
• Passion for Costain's Carbon Net Zero targets.
• Willingness to learn and build positive relationships.
• Ability to work across various projects nationwide during the 2-year programme.
