Job summary

Ferrovial Construction UK&I invites applications for a Graduate Design Engineer based in London, initially at Euston for 1–2 years. You will join the two-year graduate development programme to develop technical and professional skills under Design Managers and the site team.

You will contribute to major HS2 projects, coordinate multidisciplinary design work, and learn best practices through mentored on-site experiences in a supportive, inclusive environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Participate in design workshops, coordination meetings and reviews.
  • Support compliance with health and safety, environmental and quality requirements.

The role

Ferrovial Construction is looking for a Graduate Design Engineer to assist with the delivery of Calvert HS2 Maintenance Depot. The Ferrovial 2-year graduate development programme is designed to develop personal, professional and technical skills through a blended approach. You will work under the supervision of Design Managers and in collaboration with the site team.

This role will be based in Euston, London, for the first one to two years. After this period, regular attendance at Calvert will be required once the site office is established.

Key Responsibilities

You will contribute to the achievement of Health and Safety in accordance with company policy and ensure quality on our projects is upheld.

Key Accountabilities
  • Support the delivery of the Calvert Infrastructure Maintenance Depot (IMD), gaining experience on one of the major infrastructure facilities within the HS2 programme.
  • Work alongside experienced engineers, architects and other professionals, supporting the development and coordination of multidisciplinary design solutions.
  • Assist with the management and coordination of RFIs (Requests for Information) between designers, contractors and the client using project document control systems.
  • Support the collation, review and distribution of project deliverables, ensuring project documentation is maintained accurately and issued in a timely manner.
  • Participate in design workshops, coordination meetings and project reviews, gaining exposure to the design development process and stakeholder engagement.
  • Assist in the coordination of project activities to help ensure works are delivered safely on time and in line with project objectives.
  • Support compliance with design, health and safety, environmental and quality requirements, while promoting Ferrovial Construction UK's Vision and Values and maintaining safe working practices.
