Job summary

Altrad is hiring a Graduate Data & AI engineer to join our team in Middlesbrough or Goldthorpe. This early-career role focuses on delivering scalable data, analytics and AI solutions across ASUK, building capability in AI engineering, Generative AI, data engineering and automation.

The role covers data pipelines, lakehouse architectures, Power BI development and AI-enabled tooling, with collaboration across data engineers, analytics engineers and business stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field and practical experience in data, software development, analytics or AI.
• Baseline technical capability in SQL, Python, data analysis, databases, AI, ML, Power BI or cloud technologies.
• Interest in AI, Generative AI, data engineering and emerging digital technologies.
• Ability to experiment with AI prompts and improve prompts using structured approaches.
• Exposure to Microsoft data platforms such as Fabric, Azure and Databricks.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Fabric and Databricks.
• Assist with extracting, transforming and integrating data from enterprise systems via APIs, files and databases.
• Support development of lakehouse, data warehouse and medallion architecture components.
• Govern and prepare data for analytics and AI solutions.
• Develop Power BI datasets, semantic models, reports and business metrics.
• Develop AI prompts, Copilot agents and NLQ capabilities.
