Job summary

VE3 Maidenhead is seeking a Software Engineer Apprentice to join our AI team. You will support the development of data pipelines, machine learning models, and prototype applications, working with experienced AI engineers and product teams.

This full-time role is intended for recent graduates or final-year students (0–2 years experience) and offers hands-on training across NLP, computer vision, generative AI, and related projects in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (completed) in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering or related STEM field.
• Experience with Python and ML libraries is expected.
• Familiarity with ML workflows and data pipelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting, cleaning, validating, and preparing data for training and evaluation.
• Support the design, development, and tuning of machine learning and deep learning models.
• Contribute to scalable and reusable data pipelines using modern ML workflows.
• Conduct experiments and benchmarking to test model performance.
• Perform error analysis, feature importance, and model diagnostics.
• Track and log training/testing outcomes for reproducibility and versioning.
• Help build AI-powered APIs, scripts, and microservices.
• Collaborate on backend services and model deployment in dev/test environments.
• Use Git, CI/CD tools, and containerization (e.g., Docker) to maintain code quality.
• Work on NLP, Computer Vision, Generative AI, or Recommendation Systems projects.
