Job summary

TrimTabs Ltd, a Bridgend-based technology company, is offering a 6-month graduate placement for a Graduate Cyber Security Engineer / Consultant to map and secure a new two-site OT network in South Wales. You will help migrate from one facility to another, ensuring production equipment is protected and the network is properly segmented.

The role requires a degree in cyber security, CS, or related STEM, strong networking fundamentals, and familiarity with security testing tools.

Qualifications

• A degree in cyber security, computer science, networking, or related STEM.
• Solid grounding in networking fundamentals: IP addressing, subnetting, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, firewalls and VLANs.
• Understanding of core security concepts - network segmentation, access control, vulnerability assessment and defence in depth.
• Organised and methodical, comfortable documenting work and keeping a project moving.
• Clear communication: able to explain risk and technical trade-offs to non-specialist colleagues and senior decision-makers.
• Self-starting and practical, happy to work hands-on across two sites in a small company.
• Eligible to work in the UK and able to work on site in Bridgend and Neath.
• Exposure to operational technology, industrial control systems or manufacturing networks.
• Experience with network mapping, discovery or monitoring tooling.
• Familiarity with penetration testing or vulnerability scanning tools and methods.
• Awareness of Cyber Essentials, NIST CSF or ISO 27001.
• Any project management or coordination experience, formal or informal.
• Relevant certifications or progress towards them (e.g., CompTIA Network+ or Security+)

Responsibilities

• Map the new network across two sites including manufacturing equipment.
• Scope and compare design options with cost, resilience and security trade-offs.
• Document target-state architecture for ongoing maintenance after migration.
• Provide project management support or leadership for the site migration.
• Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing and suppliers to minimize production disruption.
• Track risks, dependencies and cutover steps; keep stakeholders updated on progress.
• Test network security before and after cutover; ensure OT segmentation and protection.
• Leave behind guidance on monitoring and good practice for the team.
