Job summary

Vision for Education is recruiting Graduate Teachers to work as Cover Supervisors in secondary schools across Beverley, the East Riding and surrounding areas. You will supervise classes when teachers are absent and deliver pre-prepared work, maintaining a productive learning environment while supporting pupil progress.

This role suits recent graduates exploring a career in teaching, education, youth work or pastoral support, offering valuable hands-on experience and a competitive daily rate

Qualifications

• Degree or working towards degree.
• Enthusiasm for working with young people.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to supervise students aged 11–16 and establish boundaries.
• Flexible, dependable and professional in your approach.

Responsibilities

• Supervising classes of secondary school students during teacher absence.
• Delivering pre-prepared lesson materials with clear instructions.
• Maintaining high standards of behaviour and classroom expectations.
• Encouraging students to participate and complete their assigned work.
• Providing appropriate support to students throughout the lesson.
• Communicating effectively with teaching and pastoral staff.
• Giving feedback to the relevant teacher after each lesson.
• Creating a calm, positive, and productive classroom environment.
