Job summary

The Marlborough Science Academy in St Albans is seeking a Cover Supervisor to support learning when a class teacher is unavailable. You will work with pupils aged 11–18, delivering one-to-one or small-group sessions, across Maths or English where required, with a flexible 31-hour week and 38 weeks a year.

Ideal candidates are graduates with strong numeracy and literacy, GCSE C or above, and IT skills. The academy offers initial training and ongoing CPD, with opportunities to progress to teacher

Qualifications

• Graduate, prepared to do one-to-one or small-group work.
• GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent) will be tested.
• Confident with IT to support lessons and able to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support high standards of teaching and learning when a class teacher is not available.
• Deliver focused support to students in Maths/English as required.
• Assist in managing classroom behaviour and promoting positive learning environments.
