Job summary

Prospero Teaching is recruiting enthusiastic and confident Cover Supervisors to support secondary schools across Dorset from January 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching, educational psychology, youth work, or other education-based careers.

You’ll gain valuable hands-on experience managing classrooms, supporting young people, and developing the skills highly sought after in the education sector.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people in schools, coaching, tutoring, youth work, or similar settings.
• A degree or strong academic background (preferred but not essential).
• Safeguarding training (desirable, but training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Lead lessons using pre-prepared teaching materials.
• Maintain a positive, focused, and engaging classroom environment.
• Support students in completing tasks and achieving learning objectives.
• Manage behaviour confidently and professionally.
• Ensure continuity of learning across a range of subjects.
• Build positive relationships with students and staff.
