Job summary

BEAR Scotland Limited is seeking a Graduate Civil/Structural Engineer to join our North West contract in Perth. You’ll work with experienced engineers on bridges, structures and trunk roads, gaining hands-on project delivery experience and exposure to asset management and maintenance activities.

You’ll benefit from a structured Graduate Development Programme, mentoring toward professional accreditation and chartership, plus development opportunities within a supportive team environment.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
• Interest in highways, bridges, structures and transport infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and organisational skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Supporting inspection, maintenance and improvement of bridges and trunk roads.
• Assisting with delivery of engineering projects from planning to construction.
• Undertaking site visits, condition inspections and surveys.
• Preparing technical reports, specifications and risk assessments.
• Supporting management of project programmes, budgets and costs.
• Collaborating with contractors, authorities and stakeholders.
• Assisting in Designer duties per CDM Regulations and safety requirements.
• Contributing to winter maintenance and emergency response activities when required.
• Learning from experienced engineers and participating in BEAR’s Graduate Development Programme.
• Working toward a professional qualification and chartered status with support.
