Graduate Civil Engineer - Poole

Are you a recent Graduate Civil Engineer living in commutable distance to Poole or have you ever considered relocating to the beach town in Dorset? If so, this may be a great opportunity for you.

My client is a company of engineers, designers, and technical staff providing a diverse range of services to their clients. The team is proactive and takes personal responsibility to find solutions that meet clients' business needs. As a multi-disciplinary practice, they work across various projects in both the public and private sectors. Since their establishment in 2003, they have grown and continue to expand their team.

The company is seeking a Civil Engineer to support senior engineering staff and lead on specific tasks and projects. The successful candidate will manage the design process for infrastructure schemes, mainly drainage, and private sector development projects. The role bridges between Senior Engineers, Senior Technicians, and CAD Technicians, and involves delegating and managing activities of junior team members.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Drainage Statements, and Transportation Reports for planning permission submissions.
2. Supporting drainage and highway design for various development projects and assisting in securing technical approvals (S278/S38 and S104/S106).

Candidate requirements:

• A HND/C or degree in Civil Engineering or a related qualification.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills, with an understanding of QA procedures.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
• Experience in design-build projects is advantageous.
