Job summary

Anglian Water @one Alliance is recruiting a Graduate Civil Engineer for a Peterborough-based, hybrid role starting September 2027. You’ll join a major capital programme across East of England, gaining hands-on experience on high‑impact infrastructure projects.

You’ll learn from experienced engineers, develop technical knowledge, and work towards professional accreditation while contributing to water industry improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree: 2:2 or above in Civil/Structural engineering.
• Experience in structural calculations for concrete structures per BS/Eurocodes.
• Experience designing civil structures in Water/Waste Water industries; MS Office & software competence.

Responsibilities

• Gain hands-on experience on major infrastructure projects within the Anglian Water capital programme.
• Work with seasoned engineers to develop technical knowledge and career progression.
• Contribute to project delivery while building towards professional accreditation.

Graduate Civil Engineer

As a Graduate Civil Engineer you’ll be part of this exciting programme from the start, gaining hands‑on experience of Civil Engineering across major infrastructure projects.

You’ll work alongside experienced Engineering professionals building your knowledge, developing your skills and working towards a successful career in Civil Engineering.

You’ll be supported throughout your development, with opportunities to build your technical knowledge, gain professional experience and work towards your longer‑term career goals.

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for graduates who are curious, collaborative and keen to build a career in Civil Engineering and who enjoy working with people, solving problems and learning new things.

You’ll need:

• A 2:2 degree or above BEng or MEng/MSc Degree in Civil or Structural engineering
• Good knowledge and experience of undertaking structural calculations for various concrete structures not limited to slabs, beams, liquid retaining structures, etc using the British Standard Codes, Eurocodes, and other acceptable standards not limited to Ciria Guidance, BRE, etc Good written and verbal communication skills
• Demonstrable experience in undertaking design of various civil engineering structures within the Water and Waste Water Industry and exhibit high competency in the use of MS office suite and relevant engineering software packages not limited to TEDDS by Tecla, Staad Pro, AutoCAD, Robot, CIVIL3D, Revit, etc
• The ability to organise your workload and meet deadlines
• A collaborative approach and willingness to learn
• An interest in infrastructure, construction or the built environment
• A full UK driving licence, or the ability to travel between project locations where required
