Job summary

Campden BRI is seeking a Graduate Chemistry Technician to join our Analytical Services team. You will gain hands-on experience in an active laboratory, supporting testing across food, drink and related materials to understand composition, quality and compliance.

You will work with techniques such as HPLC and LC/MS/MS, develop practical analytical skills, and collaborate with experienced colleagues in a busy lab environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Chemistry or closely related discipline.
• Interest in developing a career in analytical chemistry.
• Keen to develop experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, LC/MS/MS and mass spectrometry.
• Careful, methodical approach and importance of accuracy in the laboratory.
• Organised and able to prioritise workload to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and book in samples for analytical testing.
• Carry out routine analysis of samples using techniques such as HPLC and LC/MS/MS.
• Maintain accurate lab records, calculate results and collate data.
• Support the preparation of reports for routine and bespoke analysis.
• Work to laboratory methods and QC records for UKAS-accredited methods.
• Develop knowledge of analytical equipment and assist with maintenance and calibration.
• Assist with troubleshooting methods and equipment as experience develops.
• Respond to client enquiries regarding samples and testing.
• Contribute to proficiency testing and continuous improvement activities.
• Ensure testing is completed accurately within agreed timescales.
