Job summary

Potter and Moore Plc in the UK is seeking a proactive Graduate Chemist to join our R&D team, focusing on transforming ideas into cost-effective skincare and personal care products.

You will manage technical projects, develop prototypes, and liaise with customers and Business Development teams to bring high-performance formulations to life. The role offers a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth.

Qualifications

• Scientific degree in a related field e.g. Cosmetic Science, Chemistry or similar.
• Hands-on experience in skincare or personal care formulation.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to balance innovation and compliance.
• A collaborative, problem-solving attitude and a passion for product development.

Responsibilities

• Attend NPD meetings and track actions or flag issues to the team.
• Maintain excellent communication with the technical team.
• Develop safe, legal skin care and personal care formulations meeting customer requirements.
• Liaise with Customers and the Business Development Teams.
• Generate new product development prototypes for the Business Development Teams.
• Review technical data from tests and update reports.
• Approve stability testing and liaise with chemists on results.
• Engage with raw material and perfume suppliers and monitor visits.
• Train and develop staff involved in daily lab operations.
• Ensure routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
• Validate approved formulations prior to production.
• Attend product development seminars and maintain high housekeeping standards.
