Job summary

Potter and Moore Plc, a UK-based beauty and wellbeing brand owner and manufacturer, invites applications for a Process Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will operate mixing vessels, follow batch sheets, and ensure quality and productivity while adhering to SOPs and GMP requirements.

You will monitor output targets, record batch data, and work with cross-functional teams to maintain safe, clean, and compliant production across our Peterborough and Tiverton sites.

Qualifications

  • Experience within cosmetics or pharmaceuticals preferred.
  • Blending or compounding experience in personal care setting.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and teamwork.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Fill out batch records and paperwork to a high standard.
  • Meet output targets and monitor stock levels.
  • Maintain mixing equipment and product quality per SOPs.
  • Follow mixing instructions, monitor temperature, and take samples.
  • Operate loading equipment for vessels.
  • Adhere to cleaning, EH&S, COSHH, and GMP requirements.
  • Report safety or quality issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with teams to meet production targets.
  • Use bar code scanners for weighed materials.

Job description

Potter and Moore Plc is a UK-based beauty and wellbeing brand owner and manufacturer listed on the AIM market, combining brand ownership with large-scale manufacturing expertise. The company operates two manufacturing sites in Peterborough and Tiverton, employs roughly 380 people, and produces more than 44 million units each year across personal care, haircare, skincare, and baby care categories.

The group generates revenue through two primary channels: its portfolio of owned brands, including Emma Hardie, Feather & Down, The Curl Company, and Balance Active Formula, alongside private label manufacturing for leading retail partners. Complementing these core activities, Potter and Moore also provide selected contract manufacturing services. Through this diversified model, the business supplies major retailers and premium beauty brands across both UK and International markets.

Role Description:

We are seeking a skilled Process Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing goods using mixing vessels, following detailed work orders and batch sheets. You will set up and operate equipment in line with best manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures, all while striving to improve overall productivity and ensuring strict adherence to quality standards.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
  • Fill out necessary paperwork and batch records to a high standard of accuracy.
  • Ensure output targets are met, and stock levels are monitored and corrected as required.
  • Ensure mixing equipment and product quality are maintained within Standard Operating Procedures and customers’ expectations.
  • Strictly follow detailed mixing instructions to monitor equipment, temperature and take samples for testing at required times.
  • Follow departmental and role specific SOP’s and SSOW’s.
  • Use FLT or Stacker Truck to load vessels with prepared jobs (kits).
  • Follow sanitising guidelines for cleaning and keeping the working environment clean by adopting Clean as You Go principles.
  • Ensure EH&S, COSHH processes and procedures are always adhered to.
  • Follow all GMP requirements.
  • Ensure that any problems that may affect safety or quality are reported in timely manner.
  • Promote good interpersonal relationships with other team members, management, and other departments to work effectively to ensure delivery of production targets and customer requirements.
  • For dispensing of materials bar code scanners to be used on all weighed out materials.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience within cosmetics or pharmaceuticals would be beneficial
  • Relevant blending or compounding experience, cosmetic or personal care setting preferred
  • In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes
  • Excellent problem-solving and organisational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well with others
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
