Job summary

Bluebolt Recruitment's client in the UK cosmetics chemical sector is seeking a graduate chemist to move from the lab into a commercial sales role. The position offers training to develop technical and selling skills, with a competitive salary and a company car.

Initially office-based in Aylesbury, there is the potential for hybrid home/office working in the future. Travel in the UK and overseas is expected as you build relationships with R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams, plus ongoing training

Qualifications

• Strong scientific education, preferably a degree in a scientific subject.
• Future sales role with comprehensive training provided.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and overseas.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Develop technical understanding of Personal Care ingredients and formulations.
• Understand customer needs and communicate scientific information clearly.
• Support customers from concept to product launch.
• Visit UK customers to build long-term relationships with R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
• Identify new business opportunities and support product development.

Are you a graduate chemist/scientist seeking a move out of the lab and into a commercial sales role?

Our client is a supplier of chemicals to UK cosmetic market and they are seeking someone to train up into a sales role. No previous sales experience is required as full training will be provided.

The company can offer a competitive salary + company car. Whilst in training the position will be office based 5 days a week but in the future there is the option of hybrid home/office working.

This role will be based in the Aylesbury head office with frequent travel in the UK and overseas. There is great scope for creativity and personal development within this role, and you will be supported by extensive training on our products, a fully equipped laboratory, enthusiastic and supportive colleagues, and outside training where required.

This role includes responsibility for:

• Developing strong technical understanding of Personal Care ingredients, their chemistry, benefits and formulation characteristics.
• Understanding the needs of each of our customers.
• Communicating scientific information clearly and concisely.
• Supporting customers throughout their development process, from concept to product launch.
• Visiting UK customers to develop long‑term working relationships with their R&D, Purchasing and Marketing teams.
• Maintaining existing business and creating new opportunities with customers in your portfolio
• Helping Technical Development Chemists to create new Personal Care formulations that demonstrate the benefits of our products.
• Identifying new business opportunities for the company.
• Attending relevant Cosmetic and Toiletry industry meetings, seminars, exhibitions and symposia to increase knowledge of the Personal Care industry.

You will have:

• A strong scientific education and preferably a degree in a scientific subject
• The ability to learn and understand new technologies
• A scientific approach to problem solving
• The ability to work under pressure
• Full UK driving licence
• The ability and aspiration to travel
