Job summary

Theodore Harrison Ltd is seeking a proactive Graduate Building Surveyor for a well-established Birmingham consultancy. You will work under Chartered surveyors across design, contract administration and surveys, with hands-on AutoCAD and client-facing responsibilities.

You will develop your skills on feasibility studies, budget costings, planning applications and development of repair proposals, with flexible remote working options and a path toward MRICS accreditation.

Qualifications

• At least 2 years' experience in a professional consultancy environment.
• Working towards MRICS.
• Track record of running small projects.
• Strong academic record and ability to pick things up quickly.
• Enthusiastic, motivated and reliable.
• Ability to think independently and show initiative.
• Genuine passion for building surveying and team-first attitude.
• Experience in the education sector is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

• Getting hands-on with AutoCAD for design and drawing work.
• Developing feasibility studies and budget costings.
• Preparing scheme designs, specifications of works and tender documentation.
• Supporting contract administration from inception through to completion.
• Undertaking building surveys, recording condition, identifying and analysing defects, and preparing repair proposals.
• Surveying buildings and producing planned preventative maintenance schedules.
• Processing planning applications.
• Working closely with Chartered Building Surveyors to develop technical and client-facing skills.
