Job summary

Actemium Automation, part of VINCI Energies, invites applications for a Graduate Automation Engineer to design, develop and test industrial automation and control systems for blue-chip clients in regulated sectors such as Food & Beverage, Manufacturing and Water.

You will join a collaborative team, contribute to PLC/SCADA projects, and develop your technical and professional capabilities in a structured environment with clear career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Control Systems Engineering or related discipline.
• Keen interest in automation, control systems, and digital technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and fault-finding skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication abilities to interact with teams and clients.
• Competence with Microsoft Office applications and willingness to learn specialist automation software and tools.
• Collaborative approach and readiness to work within project teams on client sites as required.
• Full, valid UK driving licence or willingness to obtain one (desirable).
• Eligibility to work in the UK; visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, development and testing of industrial automation and control systems.
• Assist with producing technical documents, including functional specifications, drawings and project records.
• Contribute to the configuration and programming of control systems, such as PLCs, HMIs and SCADA platforms.
• Support system integration, testing, fault-finding and commissioning activities at client sites.
• Work with project teams, clients and suppliers to help deliver solutions safely, on time and to specification.
• Follow relevant engineering standards, quality procedures and health and safety requirements.
• Take part in training and development to build technical and professional capabilities.
