Job summary

Zodiac Recruitment Ltd. are assisting an independent Nottingham-based firm of chartered building surveyors to recruit a Building Surveyor. The role focuses on condition surveys, pre-acquisition surveys, dilapidations, and project management with regular on-site work.

You will receive APC support from an APC assessor and be part of a small team with a clear progression path as they grow the office. A construction background is a bonus.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year's experience as a Building Surveyor.
• BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying accredited by RICS.
• To be working towards your APC, with a solid start on your two years' structured experience.
• Access to a car, as the new office is outside the city centre with limited public transport.

Building Surveyor role in Nottingham with APC support

Our client is an independent firm of chartered building surveyors in Nottingham, and they're growing the team at their new office. If you've got a year or more of surveying behind you and you're working towards your APC, this role gives you the range of work to build your case.

What you'll be doing

Your work as a Building Surveyor will centre on:

• Condition surveys and schedules of condition
• Pre-acquisition surveys
• Dilapidations
• Project management

You'll also get exposure to expert witness work, party wall matters and other building surveying services. You'll be out on site regularly, and based in the office when you're not.

APC support and progression

• APC support from a former APC assessor
• A broad mix of instructions to build your experience
• A small business where your input counts
• A stated policy of growing the team from the bottom, with a clear path for progression

What you'll need

• At least 1 year's experience as a Building Surveyor
• A BSc (Hons) in Building Surveying accredited by RICS

A construction background (a BTEC route or time working in construction before or alongside your degree) is a bonus, not a requirement.
