Job summary

Torus Group is seeking a Graduate Asset Surveyor to join the Asset Investment & Commercial Team in Warrington. This role offers hands-on asset management surveys, data management, and support for investment programmes.

Ideal candidates have a Building Surveying degree, an interest in social housing assets, and strong IT and communication skills. Travel across operating areas may be required, with Agile office pattern and in person interview.

Qualifications

• A degree in Building Surveying, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or related field.
• An energy assessment qualification is advantageous.
• Interest in asset management, property surveying and social housing assets.
• Knowledge of construction methods, property maintenance and building defects.
• Understanding of health and safety legislation relevant to property maintenance and construction.
• Experience with stock condition, quality assurance, HHSRS or asbestos surveys is advantageous.
• Strong IT skills with ability to use digital systems and mobile tech to manage data.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with customers, colleagues and contractors.
• Proactive approach with commitment to continuous improvement and customer service.
• Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks and work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out asset management surveys including stock condition, QA, energy performance, HHSRS, asbestos re-inspection and void surveys.
• Update and maintain property and asset data in internal systems.
• Support quality assurance inspections of capital investment programmes.
• Assess building conditions and identify defects with repair recommendations.
• Assist in delivery of EPCs and other energy assessments.
• Coordinate with customers and stakeholders to plan surveys and provide technical advice.
• Support Decent Homes standards delivery and investment programmes across housing stock.
• Develop knowledge of construction methods, maintenance contracts, housing legislation and health and safety.
• Promote effective use of asset and project management systems and mobile tech.
• Build strong relationships with colleagues, customers, contractors and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, value for money, and innovation in Asset Management.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and relevant legislation.
• Pursue own professional development within a collaborative team.
