Job summary

AZTRUM in Birmingham is seeking a Graduate Assistant Acoustic Consultant to start a long-term career in environmental acoustics. You will work with experienced consultants and gain hands-on exposure to UK projects.

No prior acoustic consultancy experience is required; you will receive training, contribute to noise surveys, modeling, and reporting, and have the chance to progress as your expertise grows.

Qualifications

• Degree in Physics, Mathematics or closely related scientific/numerical subject.
• Genuine interest in acoustics, sound, noise and environmental consultancy.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willingness to travel to sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with environmental noise surveys and assessments.
• Undertake noise monitoring duties.
• Travel to client sites and project locations across the UK.
• Set up, collect and analyse acoustic monitoring equipment and data.
• Support noise impact assessments for residential, commercial, industrial and infrastructure developments.
• Assist with acoustic calculations and acoustic modelling.
• Prepare technical reports and present findings clearly.
• Review planning information, site layouts and relevant noise guidance.
