Job summary

Moorlands Junior School is seeking a Teaching Assistant (Grade 3) to assist in managing the classroom and supporting pupils to access learning and reach their full potential. The role suits a positive, energetic, proactive team-player who is enthusiastic about making a difference.

Experience in a similar TA role or providing consistent care for children facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges is desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous TA experience, or experience in a role providing consistent care for children that may have faced social, emotional or behavioural challenges would be desirable.

Responsibilities

• Attending to the pupils' personal needs, and implementing related personal programmes, including social, health, physical, hygiene, first aid and welfare matters
• Undertaking programmes linked to local and national learning strategies to support pupils to achieve learning goals, recording achievement & progress and feeding back to the teacher
• Supervising and providing particular support for pupils including those with special needs, ensuring their safety and access to learning
• Encouraging pupils to interact with others and engage in activities led by the teacher
• Creating and maintaining a purposeful, orderly and supportive environment, in accordance with lesson plans
