Job summary

Thorn Baker Recruitment in Coventry is seeking a motivated Graduate Construction Professional to gain hands-on experience across a range of projects. You will support planning, coordination, and delivery to ensure safety, on-time delivery, and budget adherence while maintaining high quality.

You will work with experienced professionals to develop skills in project management, reporting, and cost control, with opportunities for mentoring and career progression.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant field or due to graduate
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Excellent organisational and time-management abilities
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Full UK driving licence (preferred)
• Full right to work in the UK (NO Graduate visa)
• Knowledge of construction processes and project lifecycles
• Understanding of health and safety regulations
• Experience gained through work placements, internships or industry-related projects

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Managers and Site Managers with the day-to-day delivery of construction projects.
• Support project planning, programming and progress monitoring.
• Attend site meetings and assist with project reporting.
• Monitor health and safety compliance on site.
• Assist with procurement of materials and subcontractor management.
• Carry out site inspections and quality checks.
• Review technical drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Support cost control, valuations and budget tracking.
• Liaise with clients, consultants, suppliers and subcontractors.
• Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
• Contribute to problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives.

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Construction Graduate to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands-on experience across a range of construction projects while developing the skills and knowledge required for a successful career within the industry.

Working alongside experienced construction professionals, you will support the planning, coordination and delivery of projects, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
