Job description

Do you enjoy understanding how complex systems fit together and guiding teams through difficult technical decisions? As a GPU IP Software Technical Lead, you will guide software delivery for a GPU development programme, considering new hardware features, product needs and programme priorities.

This is a technical leadership role rather than an individual contributor coding role. You will use your technical depth to guide decisions, connect specialists, challenge assumptions and make delivery risks visible early. Detailed design and implementation remain with the component teams; your role is to ensure the software plan is technically credible and aligned across the programme.

Responsibilities

Working with architects and trinities, you will assess how new GPU features and hardware changes affect the software stack. The role brings together dependencies, ownership, delivery plans and validation needs across several teams.

We use our technical knowledge to identify technical, integration, validation, schedule and resourcing risks early. This includes making ownership clear, supporting timely decisions and giving the programme an accurate view of software readiness.

At a System-level, the IP Tech Lead encourages teams to consider the complete GPU solution and supports relevant software development, security and functional-safety practices.

Required Skills And Experience

  • Background in low-level, embedded or systems software, with a sound understanding of hardware and software interaction.
  • A track record of guiding technical work across several engineering teams through collaboration and influence.
  • Ability to reason across system behaviour, dependencies, integration needs, risk and validation.
  • Clear communication skills, including explaining technical choices and trade-offs to different audiences.
  • Delivery experience within a product programme involving cross-group deliverable dates and changing priorities.

Nice To Have

  • Knowledge of GPU architecture, device drivers, firmware, compilers, graphics or compute software.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Android, embedded platforms, SoC bring-up or hardware validation.
  • Work with silicon, platform, product, customer or partner engineering teams.
  • Understanding of functional safety, secure development or another regulated development process.
  • Involvement in system specifications, validation strategies or technical readiness criteria.

In Return

This role offers direct influence over how future GPU products are planned, validated and delivered. We collaborate with specialists in architecture, hardware, firmware, kernel software, compiler, graphics, compute, validation, release and product engineering.

The position provides a system-wide view of GPU development and the opportunity to solve problems that span several technical areas. Your work will improve delivery decisions, reduce late surprises and strengthen software readiness at key programme checkpoints.
