Job summary

PriDerm is seeking a medically qualified clinician for a three-year fixed-term post in its community dermatology service. The role involves assessing, diagnosing, and managing referred patients with dermatological conditions, including suspected skin cancers, with opportunities for minor procedures where trained.

Open to GPs with an extended role and to hospital consultants in dermatology. The post requires full GMC registration with a current licence, inclusion on the GMC GP Register, and

Qualifications

• MRCGP or equivalent is essential.
• Diploma in Dermatology or equivalent postgraduate dermatology qualification.
• Full GMC registration with a current licence to practise; inclusion on GMC GP Register.
• BAD-recognised accreditation as a GP with a special interest or extended role in dermatology, or progress towards it.
• At least one year in dermatology clinics in community or secondary care; extended-role training evident.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, investigate, treat and manage referred patients within agreed scope.
• Manage an agreed caseload, prescribe and monitor treatment as appropriate.
• Assess suspicious skin lesions and recognise suspected skin cancer and red flags.
• Arrange and review investigations and initiate onward referral as needed.
• Explain diagnoses and treatment options to patients; carry out minor procedures where trained.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and work with a multidisciplinary NHS team.
• Engage in governance, audit, quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
