Olympus Health seeks a consultant dermatologist to lead its community dermatology service and run consultant clinics on a one-year fixed-term basis. The post covers new and follow-up adult clinics, triage of referrals, and minor skin surgery, with setting clinical standards and pathways.

The role combines clinical lead duties with hands-on clinic work, audits, education and mentoring of GPwERs, nurses and local GPs. GMC Specialist Register and licence to practise are required.

Qualifications

• Substantive or recent consultant-level dermatology practice in the NHS.
• Experience leading clinical teams and setting clinical standards.
• Experience managing complex inflammatory skin disease with systemic/biologic therapies and isotretinoin per MHRA.

Responsabilités

• Act as clinical lead and write the clinical model: referral, acceptance and exclusion criteria, triage rules, pathways and discharge criteria
• Run consultant clinics for routine adult referrals aged 18 and over, new and follow-up
• Diagnose and manage general dermatology conditions with long-term follow-up
• Triage referrals and return those outside acceptance criteria
• Perform minor skin surgery including biopsies and excisions
• Ensure informed consent and infection prevention for each procedure
• Send excised tissue for histology and track results, communicating outcomes to patients and GPs
• Refer confirmed cancers to the appropriate consultant or skin cancer MDT
• Lead clinical audit and monitor diagnostic accuracy, outcomes and safety
• Train and mentor GPwERs, nurses and local GPs
