Job summary

NHS England's School of Primary Care in the South West is recruiting a fixed-term GP Training Programme Director to 31 March 2027. The post designs and runs GP training programmes across the region, including structured online learning, and supports more placements and assessment.

It is a two-session role across Swindon, Gloucestershire, BNSSG and Bath, with travel across the South West expected. Applicants need MRCGP and full GMC registration; visa sponsorship is not available.

Qualifications

• MRCGP and GMC registration are required.
• Experience in medical education, curriculum development and training is essential.
• CPD within a clinical role is expected.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop curricula for expansion learning programmes.
• Integrate e-learning, webinars, simulations and in-person training.
• Develop and source high-quality educational content and resources; ensure accessibility.
• Evaluate and improve programmes using feedback and outcomes.
• Support expanded trainee numbers and assessment processes.
• Analyse data and report outcomes to stakeholders and accreditation bodies.
• Coordinate with academic institutions, healthcare providers and technology partners.
• Mentor GP trainees and facilitate professional development.
• Oversee programme administration, scheduling, budgeting and records.
