Job summary

Woolstone Medical Centre in Forest Hill, London, is seeking a Healthcare Assistant with GP practice experience for a part-time role (24 hours per week). The successful candidate will support both nursing and administrative teams, assisting with health checks, patient education, and administrative tasks to ensure smooth daily operations.

Prior GP surgery experience and a Care Certificate are essential, with venepuncture and vaccinations possible after training.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a Healthcare Assistant in a GP Surgery/Primary Care setting.
• Ability to perform patient health checks and vital signs.
• Experience with venepuncture and basic clinical procedures.

Responsibilities

• Complete new-patient health checks according to practice protocols.
• Assist Practice Nurse and clinical team with health promotion and disease prevention.
• Record clinical observations (vital signs, height, weight, BMI).
• Arrange routine and 24-hour blood-pressure monitoring and guide patients.
• Support clinics for diabetes, COPD, asthma and other long-term conditions.
• Perform venepuncture and administer vaccinations when trained.
• Provide patient education and act as a chaperone.
• Provide administrative support to the practice team.
