Job summary

The Old School Surgery, a village GP practice, seeks a reliable Dispenser/Dispensary Assistant to join a friendly team in Chartham. You will prepare, label and dispense medications, support repeat prescriptions, and maintain dispensing records with a focus on patient safety and service quality.

Previous practice dispensary experience is advantageous but not essential. Training, NHS Pension and generous annual leave are highlights of the role.

Qualifications

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing.
• Confident communication with patients and staff.
• Willingness to learn and work as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Accurately prepare, label and dispense medications per prescriptions and procedures.
• Check dispensed medicines against prescriptions and raise concerns with a GP.
• Process repeat prescriptions promptly within required timescales.
• Provide courteous, helpful service and answer patient queries within role boundaries.
• Liaise with patients, clinicians and practice staff.
• Maintain accurate dispensing records in patient files.
• Order medications via approved wholesalers and check deliveries.
