Job summary

Dr McMaster & Partners in Girvan is seeking a GP (experienced or newly qualified) to join a friendly, semi-rural practice within Girvan Community Hospital. You will work in a team of 3 GP partners, with a supportive MDT and a PBSGL culture.

The role includes 15-minute face-to-face consultations, telephone triage, occasional home visits, and in-hours MIU/ward coverage. Extended hours are optional and GP training is encouraged. Flexible start date; sponsor licence not held.

Qualifications

• Qualified GP with eligibility to practice in Scotland.
• Experience in general practice environment is desirable.
• Openness to training and development within a community setting.

Responsibilities

An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic experienced, or newly qualified GP to join our friendly well-established and supportive training Practice (currently FY2 training Practice with an aspiration to GP Training). We are a semi-rural Practice based in the modern, purpose-built Community Hospital in the coastal town of Girvan. Our Team consists of 3 GP Partners, 2 Practice Nurses, 1 ANP and 7 administration staff serving a Practice population of around 4477 patients. We participate in an in-hours Rota for the provision of medical cover for the Minor Injuries Unit and 20 In-Patient Bedded Community Hospital.

The role will involve normal clinical duties, which include 15 minute Face to Face appointments, Telephone Triage, occasional home visits, and participation in in-hours cover of the Community Hospital MIU and Ward. Participation in Extended Hours provision is optional. GP-specific clinical interests will be encouraged and supported. The Practice currently uses EMIS and Docman software. We hold regular PBSGL sessions for all clinical staff.

The Practice is well supported by our CTAC Team consisting of 1 Nurse and 1 Health Care Support Worker. We also have our wider Multi-Disciplinary Team which comprises District Nursing Services, a General Practice Clinical Pharmacy Team, an Advanced Physiotherapist Practitioner, a Mental Health Practitioner, a Community Links Worker, an Occupational Therapist and a Community Phlebotomy Service.

Starting date is flexible. This Practice does not hold a Skilled Worker Sponsor Licence.
