Job summary

Fir Park Medical Centre in Widnes is recruiting a GP to cover a 6-month maternity leave, working 6 sessions per week (Wednesday, Thursday and Friday). The modern, purpose-built health centre serves about 12,000 patients and hosts a forward-thinking team of GPs, ANPs, Practice Nurses, Pharmacists and HCAs.

Qualifications

• GMC registered with inclusion on the NHSE Performers List (or eligible)
• Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
• Enthusiastic team player with excellent communication skills
• Interest in professional development. All experience levels are welcome
• Willingness to engage with quality improvement and Practice based initiatives
• GP willing to do home visits and administrative tasks relating to care they have provided

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of medical services as defined in the core GP contract, additional and enhanced services where appropriate.
• Provide other personal medical services to meet identified patients need.
• Make professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare professionals within the organisation.
• Assess the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems.
• Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness.
• Develop care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice; disease management protocols, provide counselling and health education.
• Work within current ICB policy for prescribing.
