Job summary

West Leeds Family Practice is seeking a motivated Salaried GP to provide maternity cover for 6 sessions per week across our three closely located sites. Days are flexible except Monday; start date around November with potential adjustments.

We welcome both newly qualified and experienced GPs to join our forward-thinking training practice. The role involves surgeries, telephone consultations, home visits, and managing prescriptions within our supportive team dedicated to patient care and

Responsibilities

• Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whether self-referred or referred from other health care workers within the organisation
• Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems
• Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness
• Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols
• Admitting or discharging patients to and from the caseload and referring to other care providers as appropriate
• Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standards
• Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions (avoiding hand-written prescriptions whenever possible)
• Prescribing in accordance with the practice prescribing formulary (or generically) whenever this is clinically appropriate
• In general, the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.

Salaried GP - 6 months Maternity Cover
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and flexible salaried GP to provide maternity cover 6 sessions each per week, days to be confirmed, however Monday will be 1 of the days required for 6 - 9 months, ideally commencing November but dates can be flexible
The practice is based over 3 sites all close to each other. Our supportive team are well established, friendly, hardworking and dedicated to providing a good experience for the patient and a pleasant working environment. The opportunity is available to both newly qualified and experienced GPs who want to work in a forward thinking training practice. We are continuously looking to improve what we do and value innovative and new ways of working.
Main duties of the job
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
In accordance with the practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make themselves available to undertake a variety of duties, including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion
