Job summary

Locums First is seeking Locum General Practitioners in Ashington to provide community-focused GP sessions with flexible working patterns across weekdays, evenings, or weekends.

You will support a range of primary care services by managing autonomous GP clinics, handling urgent care demand, providing routine appointments and completing essential clinical follow-up work, while maintaining compliant documentation and collaborating with local clinical teams.

Qualifications

• GMC-registered General Practitioner required.
• NHS Performers List registration desirable.
• Primary care or community health experience preferred.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and patient communication skills.
• Indemnity coverage and Enhanced DBS valid.

Responsibilities

• Running independent GP clinics across community and primary care settings.
• Managing acute, routine and complex presentations.
• Conducting telephone triage to support urgent access demand.
• Prescribing safely within clinical guidelines.
