Job summary

Locums First is seeking GMC-registered General Practitioners for locum roles in Alexandria. You’ll support a mix of community-focused and GP-based sessions, with the flexibility to choose work that fits your experience, pace and weekly schedule.

You’ll manage autonomous GP clinics, handle urgent care, provide routine appointments, and complete clinical follow-up in a well-structured, compliant environment. Flexible weekday, evening and weekend bookings are available, for short- or long-term

Qualifications

• Must be GMC-registered General Practitioner.
• Must be on NHS Performers List.
• Experience in primary care or community health is required.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and patient communication skills.
• Ability to work confidently across varied services and locations.
• Must hold valid medical indemnity and Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Running autonomous GP clinics across community and primary care settings.
• Managing acute, routine and complex presentations.
• Conducting telephone triage to support urgent access demand.
• Prescribing safely within clinical guidelines.

You will support a range of primary care services by managing autonomous GP clinics, handling urgent care demand, providing routine appointments and completing essential clinical follow-up work. Each service provides clear guidance, structured processes and a well-managed clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
